Also, there is a jumper needed where r39 is marked on the board....mounts on the bottom. Check the instructions for this. I left that jumper wire for today. I used a small piece of excess leads off one of the caps. It's a bare jumper but it looks good, I took a good look with my work bench magnifying lens/light combo. I had one iffy looking solder joint - touched it up and that looks good as well. I mounted the driver tubes. And they are all straight! How'd that happen? It almost looks like 'something' now! The rosin core solder is very easy to use. I like the high lead content solder - it flows very well. I'll do a check to see that everything is out of the way of the main chassis when put into place. |

Tubes are a slippery slope indeed! Scott started on his tubular journey with this amp, and is now up to$13K tube monoblocks!!!! But of course all this goodness is available most reasonably.

Those are beautiful amps. The only thing that bugs me is the front rca input just for that reason i will go for the monoblocs, it would be fun to build another system with tubes
