I just ordered the XPS-1 Phono Pre. I should have it up and running in a few days.
My question is, if the unit has an onboard capacitance of 220pf, will this be a problem for my assortment of Audio Technica Carts (95e, 100e, 440)
Anybody have experience already? I'm hoping it's a non-issue.
Thanks!

Absolutely not, you must be able to drive any cartridges on the market with the settings on the XPS unit.

Absolutely not, you must be able to drive any cartridges on the market with the settings on the XPS unit. Hoping so. But there is a recommended range of 100-200pf for most of the AT's mm's. This includes the preamp and tonearm cable..Figuring this set-up will be closer to 300pf when I fire it up. Hope it comes in today!!

IIRC, the settings on the phono section are only for MC not MM

I wouldnt worry about it. Most phono preamps have no settings for capacitance.

My bright Blue Light is on! Letting it warm up for the afternoon and some listening tonight. Nice looking unit!

Happy to report that the capacitance issue not there. Highs are extended and bass is powerful and deeper than the built in pre on the Audio Technica. XPS-1 has a beefier sound and more drive/gain.
That bright blue light is rather annoying though. Great upgrade for anybody who has one of these SL1200 knock offs with the built in pre.

I agree with Nick. Or... it does create some really nice "mood" lighting when placed on a shelf behind your rack...

I wish the connectors were all on the same side though. Creates a roundabout cable situation. I almost want to attach it to the wall or something!
