Hi, being confused as to what would be the right setting on the XSP-1 for an Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge?
1K? 470? 100? or 47? Confused about the different nomenclatures. The Ortofon recommended load resistance is 47 kOhm.
Thanks for any suggestions or experience.

Set it to MM for moving magnet. There is no adjustment to make for resistance with moving magnet. The XPS-1 is 47kOhm in moving magnet which is sort of industry standard.

Thanks Jackpine. My bad ... I realize that this is a Moving Magnet cartridge and NOT an MC! I guess I saw this in Ortofon's literature and mis-read it: "To obtain a flat frequency response as with a Moving Coil cartridge we are using the slit pole pins to reduce the eddy current." No wonder it was s*cking! First time I ever made this mistake, all of my last cartridges were MC-type. What was I thinking? (not much, obviously...)

I think I knew the answer because I've made the same mistake before.
