Hey guys,
Long time Audio/Video hobbyist (spend most of my time at the AVS forums) who just purchased a Factory Renewed XMC-1...my first Pre/Pro ever! Pairing it with a BasX A500 and A300 for a GoldenEar 7 channel setup with dual Rythmik L12 subwoofers. Up until now I stuck with Anthem receivers due to their ARC technology...and before that it was different iterations of Audyssey via Denon receivers.
While I wait for my XMC-1 to arrive (should be here Wednesday), I've been doing a lot of reading and I think I have everything pinned down...but I do have one question:
1) A lot of the threads/posts regarding the stock Emotiva mic (the EMM-1) and Dirac LE/Full calibration files are from the end of 2014 to the middle of 2015. Besides upgrading to Dirac Full and using a custom calibrated microphone, the second most cited solution are the calibration files provided by Socketman and ansat. My understanding is that, at the time, it was not entirely sure of the stock calibration files accounted for 90 degree placement along with the batch calibration files not being 100% accurate. Has anything changed since then? As in, did Emotiva ever change the stock calibration files included or do people still have good success using one of the "custom" cal files available on here?
At some point in the future I may spring the extra $200 for a calibrated mic and Dirac Full, but for now it's not in the cards. I strecthed myself very thin just paying the discounted price for the Factory Renewed unit. So trying to make sure I can get the best possible with what I have coming. I also have a Galaxy Audio CM130 SPL Meter to verify trim levels post Dirac as I know some people have said their trim levels are not always spot on with the included Emotiva Mic (again, this is all from threads and posts over a year old so not sure how much has changed).
Thanks!
