I just try to avoid buying very cheap one that could easily let leaking acid electrolyte.

I use NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) rechargeables in everything I can. However, do the their lower voltage (1.2v), they don't work in all devices like my wife's Olympus Point & Shoot camera. My old Canon PowerShot SX20 IS works just fine with them.

Ya Eneloop And Duracell Alkaline for the less important stuff.
My system controller is a pig on batteries........I'd be lost without those Eneloop puppies

I have Mr. Beams LED lights all over the house and Eneloop's are the only way to go.

Experimenting with AA Eneloop by (now) Panasonic, who apparently bought the whole operation from Sanyo. Poor luck in my GPS but I'll keep trying.
