Couple things regarding this piece:
1. Interested in hearing about different subwoofer configurations people have used. What are you using? Are you using a balanced connection, and if so, are you just running it out of the left side (mono)? I'm pushing a pair of Wharfedale Evo(s) right now, and they need some help on the low end.
2. I bought this unit on eBay, and it did not include the mic to calibrate the room. What options exist? Is that a vital or trivial step in your opinions. Thanks for your input. Cheers.

I'm just using the standard sub out and not the balanced.
Without offending Emotiva, I found the room correction to be unremarkable compared to other manufacturers. However, I think the UMC-200 as a pre/pro surpasses my previous Integra pre/pro in spades.

I run a single sub, DIY 17" in a 140 litre dual ported enclosure, powered by an XPA-100 and connected to the UMC-200 via a balanced connection. There is some 5 metres between the UMC-200 and the XPA-100 so an XLR cable was a noise prevention measure.
Emotiva may be able to supply you with a replacement mic, give Customer Service a call. Alternatively there may be another UMC-200 owner nearby who would be willing to loan you theirs.
Cheers Gary

The most powerful tool that the UMC-200 offers is P-EQ for the fronts/center/surround channels(not the backs if I'm remembering correctly). To properly set up the P-EQ, you'll need to use REW from the HomeTheaterShack. Links for the down software download and REW forum help are below. www.roomeqwizard.com/www.hometheatershack.com/forums/rew-forum/
