Buongiorno,
I will never (publicly) diss Bose again as I noticed the speakers at St Peter's Basilica were Bose.:-) It's one of those, "did you know" kind of things that I didn't.
If it's good enough for this special place, it's good enough for me. However, one of the speakers close to us when we attended mass on Sunday, August 7, seems shot and needs replacement. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Grazie.

I had 12 years of Catholic education. The pope is infallible in matters of faith. However, that infallibility does not extend to speakers. So, the Vatican could have made an error in its speaker selection.

My Bose 901's in my shop are awesome. They make a great shop/bar speaker. They're compact, play loud, and sound consistent throughout the space. I'd never consider them for critical listening, but I've gotten many, many hours of enjoyment from them. I bought them used in 1978. In about 1985 the surrounds had rotted out. Bose replaced everything with brand new stuff for something like $350. Customer service was excellent. The Bose are the oldest thing in my system and have the best bang for the buck quotient of anything I own.

Bose actually makes really good pro audio speakers. I've been to several dealer demo's and they are amazing compared to QSC, JBL etc. Still not a believer in home audio tho...

I'll add to this there line-array speakers are great especially for live events and office presentations. Can't tell you how many times I'd have to tell executives not to stand and talk in front of PA speakers. With the Bose F series no issues I even demonstrated them for our company and they bought a set on the spot. You can talk directly facing the drivers 2 inches away from them no feedback very impressive.

Ive owned a mark V or VI system for years, they've served me well, but not for critical listening. Set of 901's will fill a huge space, I've also used them as fromt hight speakers for a 11.6 HT system, they preformed better then any speaker ive used for such a purpose. Far off thunder or rain or special effects have been there very best using the 901's.
