I'm looking to replace an aging pair of speakers in my garage/workshop area. I was wondering if two C1s would work well as a stereo pair. I know they are designed for center channel use and I'm wondering if ther voicing will make them sound bad in this configuration.

I'm sure it'll work fine for the garage, but any reason you want to spend $500 for 2 C1's instead of $300 for 2 B1's and their smaller footprint?

Actually, this isn't something I'd do for myself. The C1 speakers will play louder than the B1s, but the B1s produce deeper and fuller bass, which may be particularly important if you don't have a subwoofer. I would echo the recommendation to go with B1s.
The C1 is designed with a rolled-off low end and a sealed box design to accommodate placement inside TV stands and A/V equipment shelving, where enclosed spaces can lead to bloated and overly-full midbass, and part of this design approach is the assumption that owners will be pairing the C1 with a home theater system that uses one or more subwoofers. The focus in the C1 is on vocal presence and projection, and within a typical +/-3dB frequency response specification, there is room between the limits to do some things in the "voicing" of the center speaker that enhance vocal reproduction and intelligibility in a pleasing way for home theater.
What is your attraction to the C1 speakers? Is it the three-way design? Or the additional drivers?

Thanks Rory. This is what I was thinking but wanted to confirm. The B1s will be way too small for this room. This is an oversized two car garage with ten foot ceilings. The speakers I have in there now are old school floor standing three ways with ten inch woofers. I play that system fairly loud especially when I've got the woodworking tools going and I like a full bass profile. The C1 would be much closer to what I have in terms of driver area and cabinet volume but I hear you about the voicing/crossover design. The search continues :-)

Get a set of the T1's. At $630 for a pair, they aren"t much more than 2 C1's.
