Greetings I'm trying to rip all my CDs to HDD using Exact Audio Copy. Every time I rip a CD (FLAC) in Win7 EAC it comes out a VLC file. How do I have EAC rip my CDs to a EAC folder on desktop as a .flac file without it being a VLC file? omg is there an easier way??? this is painful...and s l o w. and sux. My Escient died and all I did was load the CD and 5 mins later it was done- copied to HDD in flac.
I use Windows 7 & Mint Linux, so anything to speed up the process would be greatly appreciated.
Thx folks

Nice avatar! GIYF! It's settings in EAC (profile). See this---> >>linky<<. This is for earlier version of EAC so some slight variation is to be expected. Or >>linky<<.
Or the video below:

I watched that video before I posted. Seems my office PC is allowing VLC to take ownership of all a/v files. I'll try my laptop next. But loading hundreds of CDs manually is awful. I'll research some Linux apps to speed the process. With Escient screwing all their customers by shutting down proxy servers, it has made my Escient units worthless and my Sony jukebox obsolete, neither were cheap. I have yet to buy a USB burner for my Kodi HTPC, or try Kodi on laptop, that may be the only answer to load hundreds of CDs onto HDD.

Ah....you just have to associate the .flac files with a different player. Either way if you are using a media player, just load them all in to a playlist and it doesn't matter if they are still associated with VLC

I'm looking at something like Volumio or Dalphile to a HDD, then direct all imports to another HDD that I can use with Kodi or what ever I decide. I have extra pc's that I can use as dedicated server with USB drives. I just want to put the CD in ROM and it's done. There's got to be something- I've read about some server OS that do.
