I had and still have the CHORDETTE GEM....although not in use....actually stored away. It is an excellent piece and not as costly as the Chord2qute. If your interested I am up for selling it. I cannot quote a price since I am not sure what it is worth....orginal cost was $900.00. You can PM if interested. You can check it out online under CHORDETTE GEM and see if it meets your needs. If not...no problem...just thought I would put it out there. If your seriously considering spending that kind of money consider the GRACE m920 monitoring system/dac. You can read about it here. I was very close to buying a 2Qute. Lots of great feedback from users. I didn't like that it had a smps and people were reporting that upgrading to linear psu made a difference. (A claim the designer of the dac denies). Reportedly a very detailed, but engaging sound. Very vinly except for no pops and clicks.
In the end I went Schiit Gumby and haven't looked back.
Sorry I never heard one. I reached out to the distributor for a local dealer and they sent my info to a catalog house.

I have had mine for a while and think its great.
I did add a cheap Linear power supply to mine and it did seem to give it just a very slight lift. It may even be just getting the SMPS out of the system. I ended up getting a Keces Power supply but the cheap one was just as good. The Keces powers another device too.
The good thing with the 2Qute is it seems that USB addons do not add anything. Could be that it has galvanized isolation.
I have tried the Regen, iFi Power, Ifi Purifier 2, Jitterbug and none improved the Dac at all.
It is just such a sweet sounding Dac. That sounds so detailed and correct and a joy listening to my music.

Thanks for the useful info. Would like to save the money on the additional power supply. That is what turned me off to the Auralic Aries. Just cant wrap my mind around a $300 + power supply. Does it do anything to "bad" recordings? I think I am going to go for it to compare it to my Essence HDACC. Should be fun......

I'm bit hooked lately on listening to sky.FM World Music, Vocal New Age. So many instruments and the recording quality seems to be a lot better than my Wavs and Flac. Its addictive listening. eg Karunesh, Bliss, Ikarus, Enigma, Deva Prema, Peter Bender, Kevin Wood ..... I like anything except maybe Country music.:-) |

I've heard the Hugo. Very nice sounding but didn't think it had anything on the DC-1 nor the very schiity Bifrost.
