For high-res DSD files, what's the best way to play them? Stream direct from internet? Burn to a DVD? Stream from a local server? Also, has anyone TRIED DSD flies yet? If so, what did you think from a sound quality standpoint?
What is "XMOS USB" (up to 256K) and how does it differ from "normal" USB?
What is "PCM/DXD" (up to 32 Bit / 384kHz)?
Why would one want to convert PCM files to DSD ones?
Thanks - Boom

I have several DSD files. I keep them along with my Flacs and concerts on a hard drive attached to my Oppo 103. I can let the Oppo decode them and send PCM to the XMC or I can let the Oppo send the DSD files untouched and let the XMC convert them directly from DSD to analog. The Oppo can convert directly to analog as well but you'll have to use their analog outputs for that. They can be very, very good quality but they can also be of average quality. It just depends on the overall production. Oppo has some well done free DSD files in both stereo and 5.1 on their site. Converting PCM to DSD will not make the music better. At best, it will keep it exactly the same. www.oppodigital.com/hra/dsd-by-davidelias.aspx
