Hi guys,
Ever since I received my new Klipsch speakers (RF-7II, RC-64II and RS-250), I have literally been in heaven. What an experience!
I did decide to get a dedicated amp for the fronts and center and just received my Emotiva XPA3 (3 channels)
Before connecting it, I read the manual and it says not to use DIGITAL coax RCA cables when connecting the amp to the receiver, that it might damage the amp and/or the speakers. I quickly checked the cables that I bought and I think they are digital, I didn't even pay attention to this when I got them. Maybe I was reading it wrong, I am not sure and wanted to ask here. What is the story with this? Do I need to buy analog coax RCA to do this? Any recommendation? Why can digital cables damage my system?
Needless to say that I am in agony staring at my amp, not being able to connect it :-(
Thanks for your help!

Analog or digital RCA coax cables should be fine to connect an amp to a preamp/processor.

They're not taking about digital cable but instead of digital signal, here is the text from page 12 of the manual: DO NOT connect a digital signal to the inputs of your XPA Gen3 (or you may damage it or your speakers). It's a very different situation, for sure if you send a digital signal into the analog input it should do something special and not necessarily good. That said, have a great time with your new toy and enjoy it.

On a separate note, I have another question please. How can I make my Emo3 turn on every time I turn on my receiver using its remote? I saw a few IR-labled connections on the back but not sure if this is what they are for.
Thanks again!

If your receiver has a "Trigger Out" connection, you would run a cable from there to the "Trigger In" on the XPA Gen 3. Emotiva used to include trigger cables with their amps (3.5mm mono cable), check to see if there's one in the box.
