Just lurking on tekton threads.a few I'D companies seem to like these 2 way designs. I'm old school.i am leary....but I have had the same front speakers since 2003.they are nice ,Def tech 2000tls.but I am in the market for something new. .I don't need the powered subs in mine anymore. My stand alone sub is great and I want to free up 2 outlets. And I do like the looks of those double impacts!do they sound as good as they look!?at least it's a 3 way design...so close to just buyin.....I wanted legacy focus......but I'm not that rich.lol

I got my Double Impacts about 6 weeks ago. Eric said they were the fourth pair he had shipped. They sound OUTstanding. They replaced a pair of Emotiva 803s that I was generally happy with but these are in a whole different league.

I have serial numbers 1&2 of the Double Impacts and have been thoroughly enjoying them for about three months. Like many here I have no idea what the patent is let alone how it works, but the speakers are amazing. I had the Legacy Audio Focus SE's at the time I recieved my Double Impacts and was able to do a side by side comparison and after three weeks od doing so I sold the Legacys......and the Legacys are great speakers. The Legacys had a top end with more air but the Tektons were more dynamic, they were pretty much the same in all other aspects so in my system and room. I like a live sound so the more dynamic Double Impacts were my preference. Had I never heard Tekton speakers I'd have been very happy with the Legacys......but I'm thrilled with the Double Impacts. I've had the Enzo's and have Lores on order, so you could say I'm a Tekton owner for life now. I'd still like to hear the Pendragons and Brilliance, along with his new speaker The Perfect SET ( a speaker Eric designed for flea sized SET amps). It never ends!

It's not on the main page, but you can see a photo of it sitting next to some Pendragons. See link bellow. The Perfect SET speaker photo

How many different speakers this guy have? It is all so confusing.... I agree. I don't think he does the best job of marketing his stuff and getting it all on the website. He seems really busy. Nice guy though. I talked to him for a while when I was purchasing my m-Lores.

Tekton brings out a new speaker when the spirit moves Erik Alexander. Might be seldom, might be weekly - He likes to tinker, and I like that about him. I've not heard any of his "new technology" speakers; I'm still using my Pendragons. And until I hear anything that sounds better, the big lugs will stay in chez Boom. Now if I move, all bets are off - the Pendragons might not work so well in a closet - but if I have an auditorium sized listening room (who knows, it could happen), then maybe some Tekton 1812s or some Klipschorns could fill the bill. Life is unpredictable.

I just received the call from the trucking company today. I have delivery scheduled for this Friday, not bad considering the bad weather in the Midwest and free!

Took delivery today, shipping was about a week via Saia freight. Boxes were a bit worse for the wear but there were no punctures through the foam insides. I was a bit surprised that they weren't double boxed, maybe $ issue. After unboxing and adding the well made spikes, and using a crane to move these beasts into place I threw on my Itunes and let them run at medium volume most of the day. I just sat down for the first listen. 9:30PM Friday night... System is in my signature with the addition of a Little dot Dac, running my HTPC to the Dac, then to my XMC-1 balanced input. Music was from Tidal Masters collection. I started with Beyonce, Lemonade. Nice detailed top end, deep extended bass. I played with placement for a bit. I wanted to run Dirac but had nothing but issues. I had downloaded it last year on a work PC laptop and of course I no longer work for that company....and the software is still on it...so I downloaded a new copy for Mac...Every time I started Dirac, I got to the first position, ran the sweep...then the software would shut down. I restarted a number of times, tried over and over...same thing. So I grabbed an older PC laptop, downloaded another copy...and yup, Dirac yelled at me for having too many copies... so I have an email in to Emotiva. I'm sure it'll work out.
Now back to music. I played ELP Brain Salad Surgery, Toccata...Very interesting song, tons of "things" going on. Image had good depth, speakers disappeared nicely. Drums were back and to the Right...lots of detail, I've heard this song many times but there were stuff happening that was new. very nice. Next up Macklemore-Brad Pitt's my cousin...fun song. Vocals were dead center, I keep going back to detail...the sound was a little more forward than I remember my Triton one's, but with deeper and wider stage. Macklemore's vocals had a little edge to it that I hadn't noticed...very lifelike. Bass was tight, deep, very extended. I had the Xmc-1 in Reference Stereo mode, no subs, very accurate definition. Next up Dream Theater- The Astonishing Bass...I has it... Double bass from the drums, pretty awesome! I hope they come out with this as a live recording, there's just so much going on. Drum attacks were spot on, very accurate sounding, good depth and width. I know there have been people talking about the Double impacts not as efficient as the specs...I couldn't care less...I do know these things are dynamic as hell... These things throw a huge sound, hard to explain, tall, wide, deep soundstage...they do a very nice job disappearing for such a large speaker.

So Tekton doesn't double box...perhaps due to cost..
And yet Emotiva does?
I'm just saying... for the price conscious company (Emotiva) to be the one double boxing, that's ironic.
And no offense to anyone who finds it attractive, but Damn does that look like a frankeinstened mash up of drivers and ports. (edit: and I've seen some very unconventional speakers at the Dayton / Midwest Audio Fest. )

You're right.... because you can't double box frankenstein. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...Even Frankenstein had a girlfriend. It is; but I don't like seeing screws sticking out of my speakers or furniture; it immediately screams "cheap". It would take no effort for Eric to bring all the speakers forward out of the front a 1/2 inch and then put a half inch "false" baffle over top with holes cut out for just the woofers and tweeter. The baffle could be held on by clips or magnets. This is exactly how the Paradigm Monitor series does it, and Kef uses silver rings to cover the screws and mounting plates. My speakers (in my home theatre or living room) have to become "furniture" as well. For a computer system I couldn't care less.
