A lot of talk goes on the forum about audiobill so I wanted to share a short story. I want to share a story about my experience with a man whose acquaintanceship was just starting to grow and how bill takes a special interest with everybody in grooming them with being involved with tubes or as the Brits say VALVES. There are few times especially today where I can meet someone and read them as to what kind of person they are and how sincere they are, or to put it another way "how honest". audiobill easily fits into the criteria of honesty.
A short time after I took ownership of my m125's I turn them on and my matter of course is to wait about 10 minutes before I adjust the bias. In the meantime this particular day my daughter called and needed information that was upstairs (dedicated room in the basement) and I became totally involved with my daughters needs and forgot those valves were heating up. Entering my room I noticed a burning odor and literally seen smoke arising from my left channel amplifier. I quickly shut down both m125's. I didn't panic but I sure was angry with myself...truly a lesson learned.
I picked up the phone and call audiobill who instantly answered the phone...."thank God! At the least I wanted to be reassured that I had not damaged the m125 which by the way is built like a tank. Bill instructed on finding what tubes were bad and ran a small test to check the status of the m125. At Bill's suggestion I had purchased additional output and rectifier tubes. I was glad I listened. After following audiobill's instructions, no damage to the m125, and replacing two tubes I was up and running within 30minutes.
THE MAIN POINT.... Unknown to me Bill was with his lovely wife in Massachusetts. How is that for service? How is that for loyalty? Not just to a product that Bill believes in but to a customer and friend. I am glad I met audiobill for more than introducing me to those tube electrons.
Thanks audiobill!

Nice story! Tubes always remind me of being sent to the drug store to go check tubes for my father, and later myself.

Tubes remind me of getting knocked on my butt after probing in the back of an old tube television with a screw driver when I was a kid.
I only did that once.
...and nice support from audiobill who went above and beyond for you.

Yes, Bill cares !!! We're 1500 miles apart but were FaceTime buddies when my ST-120 hit the house. Hes like a proud father caring for his baby, with each and every creation he brings into the world. Bill has built me a few things, two of which were amps, one of much less cost but of great value to me. He has treated each of my projects with personal pride and a true craftmans heart. Bill is truely multitalented and allways with a smile, you can hear it in his voice. Now thats a smile!!!
Thanks Bill

Nice story! Tubes always remind me of being sent to the drug store to go check tubes for my father, and later myself. Oh yes, I remember it well. In my younger days I was frequently (every 6-12 mos) sent to the drug store (any respectful drug store had a tube checker) by my mother (she was the boss), for the TV tubes of course. Those were the good old days.

Many a time we went to check the tubes for our Philco B&W.

In 1960 there was nothing out where we lived, and my dad got a pair of CB radios (in the days when you had to get a license), one for his work car (it had a 1/4 wave antenna) and one for the home base station, so my mom could contact him if she needed(huge antenna on the roof).
Both CB radios had tubes (that's right, tubes in a car radio), so between those, the TV, and the amplifier he used for his turntable we visited the tube testing machine often.
Thanks for the picture!

I'll chime in regarding audiobill. His posts and recommendation led me to give TIDAL a serious trial.
I've not looked back.

Audiobill did a superb job putting together my m125 amps. He's given me lots of great advice on the tubes and on other quality components like the Grace Design m920. He diagnosed over the phone a used rectifier tube that was going - and then troubleshooted the blown fuse from the bad rectifier tube I replaced it with. His patient and detailed instructions for setting up Tidal and using it through the Apple TV & Apple IPAD Air 2 were invaluable and easy to follow. Anyone who deals with Bill will likewise have as high of opinion of him as I do. Thank you, Bill!
