Hey Guys , I just picked up Emo UPA-7 big boy amp. It is rated 125W/channel. If I will run let say only front stage LCR or LCR + 2 surrounds how I can aprx count how many w/channel I can get from it. Doesn't need to be accurate I'm just wondering, thanks

I don't know the specs for 3 channels driven but I seem to recall the UPA-7 would put out 185wpc 2 channels driven into an 8ohm load. I owned one for 3+ years. Great amp that never ran out of power. Too bad it isn't still available new. It was built as well as any of the XPA amps I've owned.

The UPA-7 is one of Emotiva's finest power amps per buck. Audioholics raved about it in many factors:
.......... This is one of the quietest amplifiers I've ever measured regardless of price .......... .......... Where this amp truly shines is in its dynamic headroom .......... .......... This indicates very tight tolerances in parts selection and excellent overall engineering ......... .......... state of the art amplification at such a modest asking price of $100 per channel ($699), simply boggles the mind.......... .......... highly recommended ..........
Emotiva's UPA-7 amplfier specs:
Power output (all 7 channels driven): 185 watts RMS @ 4 ohm (0.1% THD) 125 watts RMS @ 8 ohm (0.1% THD)
Power output (1 channel driven): 300 watts RMS @ 4 ohm (0.1% THD) 180 watts RMS @ 8 ohm (0.1% THD)
I have made a nuts ball park (large park) estimate. I used the Chuckienut top secret RF (really fast) super laptop to determine these results: Power output (5 ch - LCR+2S's) 225 watts RMS @ 4 ohms 145 watts RMS @ 8 ohms
Power output (3 ch - LCR) 260 watts RMS @ 4 ohms 160 watts RMS @ 8 ohms What speakers, brand and models and are you driving? What size room, carpeted? Are you considering driving some of the channel with an AVR receiver, if so, what model?

Thanks for answers, I have Klipsch 7.2 system RF-7II's, RC-64II, RS-62's, RB-81Il's. I know they doesn't need a lot of power. I have XPa-200 for RF-7II's and AVR I had X4000 now I just bought X6200W. Room is not big 14x16 open on one side ro 10x10 room and carpet. I really got UPA-7 so cheap it is why I bought it will see what will be the use for it I can drive some with AVR some from Amp.

I've used the UPA-7 now for 5 years or so .... see my equipment in my signature. A really good match with Klipsch. You will not be disappointed.

Oh I'm sure it sounds amazing. I also like idea to have amps able do 220V so I can take it back to Europe so Emo amps will travel with me. Just not sure if I can still keep XPA-200 or use AVR Denon X6200W for stereo and use UPA-7 for rest of the speakers.
