Ok so my DC-1 sounds great. The unit as I understand was designed with pro studio applications in mind. My only issue with it is that it tends to heat up and stay pretty warm. I'm sure it was overbuilt and designed to withstand the heat.
I don't like heat from my solid state gear and the little (very small in size) rubber feet on the bottom on the unit only elevate it a little bit maybe 1/8 inch off the shelf.
Being bored last week and realizing I might want to isolate it and raise it up a bit I went to Herbie's Audio Lab and purchased some of their tenderfeet. I've used their isolation products before with great success. They arrived yesterday and I quickly put a pair under the CD player and the DC-1.
Maybe it's wishful thinking but I would swear the treble smoothed out a bit. Either way the unit is now 7/8 of an inch off the shelf and after two hours it didn't even feel like warm! I'm happy. It's cool to the touch and maybe the CD player being isolated might help sonics too. I don't know but I feel that it was worth the $

My DC-1 gets really warm as well, but not hot. It'd definitely my hottest emotiva component.

Thanks Axis. I think it's just the only one of my components that runs warm/hot. It's probably just to put my mind at ease having the extra air flow underneath.

BTW the DC-1 has a really nice preamp too. That analog input wasn't a half a*$ed throw in.
