I wonder why they didt use input 1 and output 1, would seem more logical. My guess is that it was easier to use the outermost ports on the board which might allow for easier modification to the original.

Is ARC still just on HDMI 1 out or on both? Output 2 only. Specs from the manual: Digital Outputs 1 – HDMI 2.0 (without HDCP 2.2) 1 – HDMI 2.0 (with HDCP 2.2; with CEC and ARC) 1 – Toslink optical S/PDIF digital audio 1 – Coax (RCA) electrical S/PDIF digital audio
Do ARC and CEC work fine for you?

Do ARC and CEC work fine for you? I did try ARC right after having the board installed and it did work with my Samsung TV. Just don't have any real use for it so I haven't used it since.

I can't get ARC nor CEC to work with my Samsung TV. Also tried with a Panasonic UHD, same problem. Then again, I never tried with Panasonic before, so it doesn't say much. The TV sees other CEC devices, such as a Samsung UHD BD player and an RPI.

Using the correct HDMI input on the Samsung? On the XMC? Have the XMC on the HDMI/ARC input? Samsung Anynet+ turned on? XMX CEC turned on? HDMI cable with return channel?

Sill question: Do you know the ARC input on the XMC is HDMI 8? I'm sure you mean output 2, right? Uh, duh. Yes, the new ARC channel is Output 2 where it was HDMI 1 previously. Sorry, but I can't think of anything else. Maybe a call to Emotiva would be helpful.

Thanks for the help, appreciate it! I've contacted Enotiva already and am awaiting response It's most likely something silly I've missed.

Just had the upgrade. Very good from the shipping and turn around aspect but the lack of additional documentation drove me crazy. Finally I understood after having read this notice board. I used to use Output 1 for ARC connection TV - after upgrade ARC is only on Output 2. I did get a fairly prompt reply with a 1-pager that described the upgrades to Input 8 and Output 2 etc. but I think Emotiva should get a duck engineer or technician to make sure all the little ducks are in a line before they begin a project. Little things make a difference. Everything is fine except one other small thing ; Menu-Information-HDMI Version is Blank, simply nothing there. They are looking into it but I have not heard back yet. It's fairly unimportant with respect to the operation as such but given it was just in for an HDMI update I find it a little ironic. AP

The HDMI version thing should be fixed in the next update - it's an odd little quirk. Just had the upgrade.
