Hi everyone
I just got a pair of 4s and my setup is computer -> USB powered DAC -> XLR output to speakers.
There is a "thump/thud" sound from the speakers if I leave them on when I turn off my computer. May I know if this is normal and if I should be concerned.
I know one way to prevent this is to turn off the speakers before the computer, but the switch is hard to reach in my setup as they are at the back of the speakers.
Thank you!

You should be turning off the speakers before the computer, can you put the Airmotiv's on a switched power bar ? making it easier to switch them off.

This is normal.
The thump is a byproduct of the output stage of either the DAC or the computer swinging to one rail as the diff looses power and becomes unstable. Since the Airmotiv speakers are simply signal in......signal out and don't know the difference between unwanted noises and actual music, they will play the thump.

Lonnie Lonnie can this damage the internal amps of the speakers, I know it's bad for say a proccesor or preamp to turn off before your amps right. Chad
