My 103has gotten little use but for Tidal since I got a great deal on the Samsung 4K player months ago. No rush for me.
I will be waiting for feedback though. Enjoy guys!

Bad timing for me as my wife has already purchased a Christmas gift for me, the Apple Watch 2 (Nike Edition). Even though I have purchased several 4K blurays, I may have to wait till my birthday in April for 203. Not too far off. Just hope they are available.

I wonder how the AKM 32bit premium dac of the 203 will compare to the one in the Oppo 105.

I too got the pre-order e-mail. If I buy now, I'll certainly be researching the current batch of 4K flat panels after Christmas, as I won't have time until then. Decisions, decisions!!!

I'm in quite a similar boat, although I have already 203'd today, but with no display to watch any decent UHD... Currently the display I'm looking at is the LG Electronics OLED65E6P, but I'm willing to wait until the price comes down to somewhere within my budgetary range, or until something better/cheaper comes along... I feel like I'm nuts, but then again, my XMC-1, is not yet tricked out for UHD and ATMOS/DTS-X yet... So it sounds like I'm using the "baby steps" approach as I head into this whole new UHD/ATMOS/DTS-X "battleground," but it is all I can afford to do for now So as I wait for all this to come together, its back to my trusty old panasonic 1080p plasmas, my Oppo 103, and my original unmodded XMC-1, which are nothing to sneeze at, when all is said and done. I guess can't really complain too much in this situation

Got a response back from Oppo concerning future availability of the 203 after this initial order. Oppo says there will be plenty in early 2017 including at retail.

Some guys are posting order numbers over at AVS. The difference between the highest # I've seen and my order # is over 2,500!

Just checked my email link again and the 203 is now out of stock. I noticed this as well. Since I don't have a 4K flat panel, I don't have a problem waiting until I do, thus more time for flat panels to mature. Congrats to all of you that will be getting this player and I look forward to hearing everyone's impressions.

IMO the real question is why should I buy a Oppo over a Xbox One S?

IMO the real question is why should I buy a Oppo over a Xbox One S? If I were to hazard a guess, I would say it is for the same reason as I would buy an ERC-3 CD player, even though I also have computers and game consoles that also play cds, or buy an XMC-1 prepro, even though there are cheaper AV receivers that can do more than simply processing AV signals... I hope you see where I am going with this... Even though I haven't seen or heard either the Xbox 1 S or the Oppo 203, I am fairly confident that the Oppo will trounce the Xbox in handling Blu ray movies, and all the formats of disk-based music that I am interested in... This feeling is simply based on my past experiences with game consoles in general, and blu ray players from Oppo... Of course, it is always (remotely) possible that the Xbox one S or Scorpio will buck this trend and beat the Oppo at its own games, and if that happens, I shall eat humble pie and gladly sell off my Oppo... However, I have to say that I am not holding my breath, ... again based on past experiences...

I have a Samsung 65" 4K set but don't mind waiting a couple of months for stock to replenish and it gets near my birthday so I have an excuse. Looking forward to impressions and reviews!

I currently use a 83SE that has had it's loader replaced. I still have a perfectly good 63" Samsung plasma, so I'm good for awhile. I want to see what the 205 brings to the table. If it follows their previous model we'll get a better DAC and an improved power supply, not to mention that Dolby Vision should be on board by then and the HDMI ports should be at least 2.0a or better. Until I can get a 65" OLED for a reasonable price, I can sit it out.

I've got my Samsung 65JS8500 tv and my Sony VPL-HW40ES projector working well with my Samsung UHD8500 player and my AV7702 Marantz AVP via both a HDFury Integral and an HDFury Linker. I don't want to go through another set up for no clear advantage (Dolby Digital will never work on my tv, so no advantage there). My 4K UHD disc count is up to 43 now!
