With the hint from Dan that an XPA-8 is in the works, I am just wondering what an eight channel would be used for? Width channels for ATMOS are stereo, so you would need 9 channels. Perhaps a sub channel, but subs are active now days and require more power than what the amp can output (guessing under 200 WPC if they're just slapping another blade amp into the chassis). Perhaps an 8 channel and one 5 channel for the XMR-1. I'm sure more details will follow, but just wanted to get some feedback as to what others thought of the concept. Personally I would like to see if they can increase the power output of the XPA-7 to at least 300 WPC all channels driven into 8 ohms.

I thought Dan's reference to a XPA-8 was a joke.... and that perhaps he even meant "gen-8". Since he referred to jumping 6 generations. I'm not sure the XPA-8 is real. 8 would be an unusual channel count. Alright, you've forced my hand.... there is already an XPA-8 in the works! There, I've said it and I'm not sorry I did. Finally I can sleep knowing that the truth is out there!! We're jumping 6 generations in one fell swoop! Take that 🍎!! 👽

Really!? I have 3 mono blocks for my front 3, left, right, center. 2 XPR-1's and a XPA-1.Then a SA-250 for my rear surrounds. Then a base X 8 for my remaining surrounds and Atmos. So it may not be a joke! Don't forget they do sell the base X 8 as I have one and love it! Don't be deceived by the lower power ratings on it, the unit goes plenty loud and clear. It sounds perfect for its duties keeping up with my XPR'1s,XPA-1 and SA-250! And that is no joke!
