Here is another one of Eric's creations.

Holy tweeter array! Is he going to do that on all his speaker models...

I think I see what he's going for. He wants the tweeters to be as big as the woofers. Interesting.

I like Tekton, Salk and Philharmonic speakers. Although I have B&W speakers I definitely would consider the speakers listed as candidates for an idpendent 2channel system. Of the three I have only heard Salk and Philharmonic....very impressive. The Philharmonic lends to some serious music listening.

As I understand it, and I may be wrong... Eric Alexander's Tekton "tweeter array" is designed to work with a network that causes the array to behave as a LARGE point-source. That way, one gets the (GREATLY) reduced TIM distortion that comes from the tweeters not having to use so much excursion to produce the same SPL. For example, if a single tweeter had to produce all the treble range, it would have to move forward and back in its coil a LONG way to produce a specific SPL. The disadvantage of long excursion is that the movement required to reproduce the lower part of the tweeter's frequency range modulates the vibrations needed to produce the higher-frequency part of the tweeter's range.
By using an array of tweeters, each individual tweeter needs exponentially less excursion to produce an equivalent SPL. Therefore the TIM is also reduced exponentially. In theory, the same argument could be made for using multiple woofers (which Tekton also likes to do). The only other practical way of reducing excursion is to horn-load the drivers (but the horns themselves add coloration).
The new Enzo design seems theoretically sound, and I'm suspecting that it sounds as good as theory would predict. Not having heard one, I couldn't say, though. Had I but space to put it, I'd definitely consider a pair of Tekton's 1812 speakers!
