Currently I've got a Harmony 900 and I'm quite satisfied with however one of the limitations I experience is that the control of the XMC-1 only is supported via IR. This implies that the Harmony doesn't receive any feedback about the status of the XMC-1. Now I would like to know if this is also the case with the current Logitech Smart Hub. This solution can control devices via IR but also via an IP network. So technically it should be possible for the Smart Hub to query the actual status of the XMC-1. Who can confirm or deny that this is the case?

Just curious, why do you need status / feedback back from the XMC-1? And no, I don't believe you can control the XMC-1 via the network from your Harmony due to various protocols differences.

The XMC-1 has enough discrete IR codes that the network feedback isn't really necessary. If things aren't working reliably then there is probably a problem with hub/emitter output reaching the XMC-1 without interference.

Well it is not regarding a reliable communication. The RF function of the Harmony 900 works rather well. But a problem is that at this moment I can only control it with my Harmony remote and not use the Harmony remote and Android XMC-1 control app together because then the state of the XMC-1 is not the same as that the Harmony thinks it is. For instance if I listen to radio, switched on via the Harmony remote, and at a later stage switch zone 2 (for the Kitchen) on via the XMC-1 android app, when I later want to switch everything off, via the Harmony remote, Zone 2 will not be switched off.

Have you thought about using the Harmony app? It's kept in sync with the remote.

Could be an option but then I would be curious when using the Harmony Hub IP gateway function (Domoticz can directly interface with the Harmony link) it is still in sync. (Nevertheless I would like to get rid of the old fashioned IR control and go to a more advanced and reliable IP control in general).

I too hate using IR for things. In my case, everything in the theater is behind me and I have to use a relay and ensure that there is not a duplication of the signal. The only way to use the IP is to connect the IR to an IP gateway and then use an external program remote (like iRule) to control it. Alternatively, I believe someone on the forum has written an app to control the XMC-1 via IP that you can use with your smart device or computer (not Harmony). Best of luck in your search.

Yes, anything going through the hub, including Domoticz, will be kept in sync. I have some custom home automation software that interfaces with the hub to trigger activities and the remote stays synced. I don't know how well the hub understands state changes when triggering zones and inputs through the device buttons (regardless of whether from logitech SW, logitech remote, or Domoticz).
Sometimes, it's easier to tweak the activities. It wouldn't hurt to add the zone 2 off command to your power off activity. Worst case, it's already off and it wastes half a second.
I'd be surprised if Logitech adds IP control for Emotiva. I doubt there is a ton of demand and Emotiva's protocol is very unique when compared to the major A/V brands.

The Harmony Ultimate and the Harmony app communicate with the Hub. From there, the IR instructions are sent out. If I change inputs with my phone, the Ultimate immediately knows the change. Same if I use the remote to change; the phone app knows what's changed and adjusts accordingly. My Hub is not in line-of-sight with any of my gear (to the side and slightly behind the front panels). The Hub "lights up" the room and all my gear can see the signal.
