OK, this may need to be in stupid question zone... My HTPC is a Zotac ZBOX-AD04-PLUS-U with HDMI, SPDIF out I just upgraded from OpenELEC- new install of Kodi 16.1 built on Lubuntu 16.10. I wanted a full OS to do other things. I can NOT get the digital audio to pass through SPDIF toslink. SPDIF worked perfectly before. It will pass via HDMI to UMC-200, but I can't use HDMI on my other legacy receivers. Kodi> System> Setting> Audio output> Enable audio DSP processing. then I get "you need an add-on installed to be able to use audio digital signal processing" kodi 16. Ok, I need to enable, add Audio DSP Plugin to AddonManager. How? I've looked all over Kodi wiki, HTPC Beginners, etc. forums can't find a thing. SO, I'm asking you folks here (because you're really smart) How, Where do I find it, I'm getting really p-off. I can copy/paste terminal commands with the best of them. HELP please, Jeff I'm about to drink a few "pops"

Check your PC's SOUND settings first. I'm not familiar with Linux, but this is how you set it in Windows:
