Unpacked and setup the XMC-1 for large stereo fronts with stereo subs - no other speakers.
configured other speakers to none, but even when setting test tones to use the medium or high settings...zero, zip, nada sound. Video was okay. Rechecked connections a zillion-1 times; all good; replace XMC-1 with preamp, dac, and crossover - sound works.
Read a post last night about user who had same problems, but was unable to find post (within a few minutes of searching). Seemed to recall it was an 'EDA' (or something like that) board.
Tempted to pull upgraded XMC-1 from other system, but it's setup and just waiting on the delivery of the amp this evening.
So, calling EMO Tuesday morning - figuring they're closed Monday for the holiday.
Disappointed about this, but stuff does happen. Hoping that the second XMC-1 works after getting the amp hooked up.
Happy New Year to all.

The amp arrived this evening and the second XMC-1 setup was completed and it WORKS!
Calling EMO tech support first thing on the first one.

Unit returned after repair. The EDA board was replaced.
Hooked up unit and went through setting levels - HMMM, left sub only; nada from the right. So, went through the usual troubleshooting to narrow it to left or right XLR; left or right sub amp; left or right interconnect; etc. On the last check, the left sub had no output. NOTE: prior to introducing the XMC-1, BOTH subs worked (meaning subwoofers and amps). "stuff!". Didn't have another amp I could substitute in without de-configuring another system.
So, I hope to bring home the amp from my work residence to home and try again.
One thing I did notice was that the EMO power cords, these are the first production run or two, with the Gray housing have DEEP! cracks. I could understand it if they were being pulled and reinserted frequently, but these were setup once and haven't been touched. Also, the sub amps, SPECTRON Musicians, do not draw tons of power so heat would not be a cause; and there are no signs of thermal stress. I'll have to check the other power cords. Finding this was disappointing.
Shall report on the XMC-1 sound issues HOPEFULLY this weekend. The setup is strictly stereo - two main fronts and two subs.

Really odd...call Emotiva. Never had these issues with their gear.

Do you have the setting set to dual mono in the setup menu. I run my subs off a y cord since they are placed symetrically.

Do you have the setting set to dual mono in the setup menu. I run my subs off a y cord since they are placed symetrically. Set to stereo subs. XMC-1 set to 'direct' so there is bass management. Individual XLR's to each sub amp. I'll wait to call EMO until I confirm it's NOT an amp issue. Don't want to wind everyone up for a false positive. The other XMC-1 is running fine though it is strictly (reference) stereo, no subs (yet). Though, I notice that it is from the first run and it is definitely slower to respond to IR commands than the new one; the one giving me trouble.
