I think the argument is that "Blue Cheese" is the type - a broad category that's not necessarily French (bleu). Gorgonzola is apparently a blue cheese. But is it bleu cheese?! Only in France. Hmm... So if you put a ring around it, does that make it Cordon Bleu? Sacre bleu!

I'm listening to Linda Ronstadt singing "Bleu Bayou" right now.
To the OP - didn't mean to hijack your thread!

As long as your having fun, I suppose that's all that counts?

Yes. It's a personal issue I've been in therapy for. My Shrink says it's not a BIG deal but i am aware of my habit. Why does that bug you to the point of needing to remark upon my Writing Style? Can you contribute something to the thread or something about Chip Amps or good matching speakers? I use all caps in subject Titles for Legibility. It's not really shouting, you know. If someone were to Yell in your ear, you could easily tell the difference. Sometimes less IS more. I May Have missed my True Calling. This is the 7th image if you google caps lock meme. All Caps is considered shouting online there is no way around that. There are also studies on how all caps makes legibility worse if that's a point you want to make.

I guess it doesn't matter, I HATE bleu cheese no matter what color it is. You can't use the word "hate" and "cheese" within six words of each other. I'm calling the police...

Ah! The tyranny of the Internet Mentality. Sorry, we've really derailed your thread. I like the idea of what you are building...sounds cool! The first watt is a vital one...or so said someone named Nelson. But, now, I feel blue because we hijacked...(sorry, had to make 1 last reference...) Mark

That's OK with me. But I think the ultra-Cheap garage system doesn't get enough attention. Or Respect.
My system sets the bar pretty LOW, but is fine for the intended use, which is some nice sounding distraction while pretending to get something done.
If I wasn't so darn cheap, I would get those PE speakers, too.

I'm dying to know myself I don't expect Emotiva build or sound quality (they use little spring loaded clips for the speaker connections, there is no crossover; woofer plays full range and tweeter is just capped to deny it the lower frequencies) and sometimes the box has to be hit a few times (loose connection according to one youtube review)... but still, for a garage or "ultra cheep" system, I wonder what it can do.

Seriously though, I did have a really old system that I deployed in the garage before it's final destination at a goodwill when I no longer needed it. It was really nice to have a cheap but effective system there. At the time, I was spending a fair amount of time in the garage or nearby, and I didn't want to put a lot of $ into it due to all the dirt/dust. So, the old system I'd had as my first "stereo" went to the garage. It was at least 20 years old then. Mark

I am of somewhat Limited Means. I have a few other Projects to work before investing more in my garage 'system'. Those PE speakers are a Logical Upgrade. Other things I'm working on would be an idea for sale so I can turn some profit with an idea. I'm working on an amp stand with some very unique properties, for example. I need to fund That before starting off on another project. I'll build my prototypes to fit my Parasound A23s but it would work for most other amps with simple scaling for size. Thus the Garage Music!
