I would like to see the DC-1 remember the last volume independently for each input, not just headphone vs. all else. The input levels of the various inputs may be quite different. E.g. for home theater bypass when I pass the front speaker audio from a SSP into the DC-1 analog-in, I find I need to set the input level quite high (I believe some would say 0db and use the volume control of the SSP only), and switching back to USB-in would be rather destructive to the speakers and/or my ears if I didn't remember to first lower the volume dramatically first.
