I recently finished a 5 speaker set (Soon to be 7 speakers) based on Jim Holtz & Curt Campbel's Statements II towers, Statement II Center, and Statement Monitors. I'm powering them with an XPA-7 Gen 2 and an XPA-2 Gen 2 with an XMC-1 processor. I've detailed my full build log over on htguide.com's forums, but thought I'd post a final picture or two here Obviously, the surround speakers are not permently located on the floor beside my amps! Build log over at HTGuide: www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php?43134-Another-Statements-HT-(Monitors-Statements-II-Statements-II-Center

That's a mighty small monitor for all those speakers. I think it's time to go to the Big Leagues ... :-)

That's a mighty small monitor for all those speakers. I think it's time to go to the Big Leagues ... :-) Casey It is a 55" plasma, it is only temporary! Projection is on its way. I need to decide how I want to proceed, though. I want a black projection screen, something like Screen Innovations Black Diamond, or Elite Screens CineGray5D, but those are not acoustically transparent. A 130" diagonal would completely fill the space between the two towers (118" wide or so), which is what I'm going for. The speakers are open back on the mids, so I need an acoustically transparent screen.

Nice job on your build, they are a very nice sounding speaker design. Once you build these and hear them, the commercial designs that are out there just dont sound like much. I have built quite a few of Curts designs and all of them were very good sounding. Here is a shot of the Anthologys I am running now.

I've been intrigued by the statement speakers. Some day I might build a pair for the bedroom. Nice Shoes.

I just completed a set of Statements too. The mains are the Monitors and the original 4 driver center.. The mains sit on top of SB acoustics 10" ported base units with plate amps for stereo bass. All are wraped in red oak veneer. For movies I built a sealed Mach 5. 18"!sub powered b a beringer dsp6000. I chose the Monitors to allw more room for the 240. Screen. Some day I'll learn how to post pictures... Ann

Hi pknaz - Any reason for the black screen over a standard "high contrast" grey one? The grey ones are offered in a far wider variety of options, cost less, and, in my experience, lose no performance the I can tell over a fully black screen (provided the room is darkened). I agree with you that "bigger is better" when it comes to screens. But above about 100", don't you need some tensioners to keep the screen flat?
