I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but my searches here yielded nothing. Is there a Dirac Full manual ?? In the Dirac LE pdf there is a page or two on Full, but it doesn't cover all the differences between LE and Full. I did find a nice pdf by Austin Jerry on creating curves and curtains, etc.. Kudo's to him.
But there is a difference in the mic and channel level setup for Full that I don't understand. After setting up the 'input gain' (my UMIK1 stays below the suggested level with the adjustment all the way up), I then go to 'output volume' and set up the level. If I set it where my LF is right in the middle of the green at -12 then my surrounds are barely within the green and my single rear speaker is out of the green. If I set it with the rear set to -12, then some of the speakers are too low. In the Full program there is also a 'channel volume' adjustment for each speaker. I cannot find a description of how to use this. If I don't adjust the 'channel volume' for my rear speaker I will get an error message during the readings that it is clipping.
Should I be using the 'channel level' to set each speaker's level as close to -12 as possible?? If I do the 'output level' at -12 for my lowest speaker (which happens to be my RF) I can then adjust each speaker to as close to -12 as possible. If I do it this way then I need to lower my surrounds significantly and my rear even more. I have done a Full run this way and there is no clipping.
Thanks, Tom

You are correct...... Once you set the master Output Volume level, you use the individual Channel Volume controls to "fine tune" the individual channels. What you need to remember is that the individual settings are not at all critical. As long as Dirac Live isn't reporting overload or other problems, it isn't critical that you reach a level of exactly -12 dB, or that the levels are identical on all channels. The individual controls are simply there for situations where you CAN'T find a single setting of the master control that will work for all your speakers. In other words, use the individual controls in conjunction with the master control to get all of your speakers around -12 dB IF POSSIBLE. Thanks. Good to know that I've been doing it right, even if I was overdoing it.
One more question/comment/complaint about Dirac. When I check my speaker levels with my RS spl meter after running Dirac Full all the speakers are within 0.5- 1 dB of each other EXCEPT my single rear speaker. It measures @4 dB low. I know it is not recommended to change levels, but I do raise the rear speaker to match the surrounds, otherwise it's not audible. I think that for whatever reason Dirac Full (and maybe LE) does not handle the 6.x setup correctly. I would be interested if you could take the time to run a similar Dirac reading in a 6.x set up in your listening room and check your results. It has happened every time I have run Dirac Full in either 6.1 or 6.2. That's at least 10 runs as I changed equipment or setup or speaker positions, etc. I'd be interested if it happens to you also.
