speaker mix

Hello

At the moment i have UMC-1, UPA-200, ERT-8.3, the most crappy center speaker in the world, diy tabaq as sorrund speakers coolcat.dk/bjoern/TABAQ_TL_for_TB.pdf, and a diy subwoofer with a 8" tang band sub. My wife is talking about a new couch so i cant have room for my tabaq on the floor and my subwoofer between the 2 couches anymore.

I have been wondering about a few solutions.

1. I can buy the airmotiv E1, but how will they sound compared to me 8.3 ?

2. I can buy the jamo d500 surround speakers, but how will they sound compared to my 8.3 ?

3. I can buy full jamo d500, that will be very good for the movie sound but im afraid i will miss the 8.3 for music listening.

Any ideas or thoughts about my problem ?

I would choose the E1s over Jamos as I expect it to be better for music.

Yeah man, what he said. The Jamos I auditioned in an "optimized" room still sounded awful for the $$.
They sounded like a poor outdoor speaker would sound. Poor bass, over-accentuated mids and grainy highs.

To be fair, this was 4 years ago and things certainly could have changed in that time period. I was just highly disappointed
in them. I thought they were a cool looking speaker though.

They would do you good for multi-channel music too!

have you ever compared them to the 8.3s ? I mean is there a big difference in sound ?

While I've auditioned the 8.3s (and they sounded great) I have not compared the two.
However I do believe that the ribbon twitter in the E1s would sound better for music. Plus the E1 is a better looking speaker!

yeah im thinking more that they will sound different from the 8.3 in a surround setup :S
