I know there are people ignoring this, but it's fine. ...

That shows the REAL interest of most of the 'audiophiles' that frequent this place. Maybe 10% have a clue.
The original standards for either Dolby or THX called for bi or di surrounds.

I opted for four of Paradigm ADP 590's for surrounds in my HT setup. Sounds great, I am using Dirac and an XMC-1. The sound is lifelike and engulfing.

Any opinions? ?? Get the ones that has a sound character closest to your fronts and center. As for having them from the same brand, IMHO if you can get dipole or bipole surrounds from the same brand and serie as your center that is grand. If not, a bipoles or dipoles, from another brand might well bring a better experience. I use Focal dipoles with B&W 804D3s HTM2 Diamond with Dirac through my XMC-1, that works really great for me.

I'm not sure yet, I can get deftech sr9040 for surround and keep the deftech 800 for surround back, then I can use the replaced 800 for heights. .....or I can replace both surround and surround back with XLBP from Fluance with only $400 for all four. ....
