Didn't want to start a new thread. Well here goes my first Emotiva review. ADCOM GFP-345 (23 years old) Vs the Emotiva PT-100 Review
I have been wanting to replace the 345 for ages since its 23 years old and has no remote. I used a GCD-750 Player Dac and Amazon HD for most testing, and a Sony CD player with Coax out to compare the Dacs. Its taken 2 weeks of swapping, switching cables with and with out sub to come to my conclusion. The PT100 has a better Timber on the stage than the 345, and a bit more forward, however the PT100 is not bright, it has its own sound. The 345 throws the bass to a precise location and holds the overall presentation deeper behind the speakers. I found after a solid 3 days with the PT100 that when I went back to the 345 that the soundstage was smaller and the presentation of the performance's was laid back to far for my liking. But I gave the Adcom another couple of days, mmm swap, swap and swap again, trying to come to the conclusion which did I like more. And here are my truths from my ears. The Adcom 345 sounded better on the Magnapan 1.6s and the PT 100 sounded better on everything else. JBL 530's, JBL 4408s, Vanderstien 2Ces . I just had better control with the PT100 adding +1 or 2 bass during low level playback just made the entire experience better. The remote control while challenging is by no means a deal breaker. My amps used where Carver 2 x TFM 25s, TFM 42, Av64 and a Adcom Gfa 555, in every case no matter the speaker the TFM 42 at 380 Wpc just sounded deeper, cleaner and more real than any of the other Amps. Now to the Dac in the PT100 , I only have 2 to compare, The Dual Burr browns in the GCD 750 that's 20 plus years old and a Audio Alchemy V 1.0. Its got a long way to go to match those Burr Browns, but the PT100 dac is very musical and allows for foot tapping and head bobbing. It just out classes the old Audio Alchemy and is a great upgrade to the Sony Cd players internal dac, and through the optical cable I used Amazon HD through the Firestick through the TV, and it also sounds better than the TV Analog outputs(this is a great upgrade for my TV 2CH) , Giving much better Vocals and a much wider and taller presentation for movies. I like the dac and it probably saved me a couple hundred bucks getting another one now. I think the Emotiva PT-100 is a Keeper and a great contender for those looking for a 2 channel or 2.1 or 2.2 system.

I wanted to listen to a few more LPs before I mentioned the phono stage. It is much better than the Pyle999 I have been using, much better Bass and Vocals. Staging is also somewhat wider making a more believable presentation. So I must really give Emotiva Thanks for that improvement as well.
