Does the TA-100 have the same feature as the A-100 for its headphones output? I read somewhere that the TA-100 is like the PT-100 combined with the A-100. But the 4 ohms output is different... 80 watts (not specified) vs 90 watts (at 1khz 1%thd)
Most important, it doesn't say much about the headphones output in the TA-100 as opposed to the A-100.
"Fans of vintage equipment will especially love the sound of the headphone output on the A-100, which is derived directly from the main amplifier outputs through precision dropping resistors – like the great sounding headphone outputs on high-quality vintage gear. If you’ve found the sound of the headphone outputs on other modern equipment lacking, then you need to check out the A-100. Another special feature of the headphone outputs on the BasX A-100 is their ability to drive even the lowest efficiency planar headphones with ease. A pair of internal jumpers allows you to bypass the dropping resistors and route the amplifier outputs of the A-100 directly to the headphone output – and avoid the need for messy external adapter cables. The super quiet amplifier circuitry in the A-100 ensures a low noise floor, even with the direct connection."
It doesn't say any of these in the TA-100 as well. If it's not the same, has anyone tried if the headphone output in the TA-100 is any good?
Thanks.

The A_100 is a very powerful headphone amp. It can drive sennheiser HD 600's with ease. The TA-100 does not share this headphone section.

The TA-100 headphone is quite good, but the A-100 is going to give more drive and dynamics than the TA-100 will. How much of a grand difference will depend on what you are looking for. For most, the TA-100 will fantastic in driving most higher impedance Headphones with confidence, and ease. The A-100 will substantially more difficult Headphone loads, and is a great way to go if you have a more demanding Headphones to drive.
A small excerpt from the A100 description.
The BasX A-100 also includes a front panel Volume Control and a front panel headphone output. Fans of vintage equipment will especially love the sound of the headphone output on the A-100, which is derived directly from the main amplifier outputs through precision dropping resistors – like the great sounding headphone outputs on high-quality vintage gear. The TA-100 has a different approach in its design for Headphone drive.

Thanks for your reply. I'm using a Hifiman He400i. Do you think I'll notice a difference in sound quality between the TA-100 and the A-100? Thanks.

Yes, definitely the HE-400i would do better with the A-100. More of that great thing.
