Hello Ya'll.
I am looking at purchasing the Mcintosh MA5200. If you have any experience with it pls do share it.
I am currently using the Xpa-2 Gen-3 with a DC-1, but I am, to say the least, intrigued by this amp, however I have had no chnace to hear it in action.
All opinions are appreciated.

Will you be using this integrated amp along with the XPA-2 and DAC or stand alone?

I am a McIntosh amp fan, but Emotiva is a close second. I plan a couple of their new mono gen 3 when available

I just looked this up and the MA5200 has a reasonable DAC built in. It also looks to be Direct Coupled outputs, so NO autoformers (a relative of a transformer).
If you're good with the MC sound, this should be a good intro. Power is good for any medium to higher sensitivity speaker in a normal home living room. Amp appears to have plenty of heat-sink, so should run cool even at higher levels.
Possible downside is Lack of ToneControls. I like to use 'em late at night as a sort of loudness countour, another old-school control which has disappeared from modern gear.
Are you buying New or Pre-Loved?

If the Corwall III is your speaker, don't forget that it is over 100db sensitive. This is very high and makes terriic use of any available power. The 100 watts or so of the MA5200 would be fine. No need for KiloWatt Monoblocks.
