While troubleshooting my new XMC-1 subwoofer issue, I did notice was that the EMO power cords, these are the first production run or two, with the Gray housing have DEEP! cracks. I could understand it if they were being pulled and reinserted frequently, but these were setup once and haven't been touched. Also, the sub amps, SPECTRON Musicians, do not draw tons of power so heat would not be a cause; and there are no signs of thermal stress. I'll have to check the other power cords. Finding this was disappointing.

No doubt if you're having that kind of an issue you would see a replacement from the company in no time instead of crying 😠about it here! Bill

Bill Well Mr. Bill, The order was placed as soon as the product was available for order. No crying - just mentioning what I discovered. Kinda funny how some misinterpret how something is presented. Thought it was not in keeping with EMO's standard of high quality - judging from the quality of the EMO stuff I own.

If you got a bad power cord, give us a call and we'll replace it. Keith, Appreciate the offer. I looked at the newer ones I have here at the apartment and they have black cases and appear okay. When I get back home, I'll check the ones there and advise. I have approximately 4-5 that are still in their boxes and I believe have the Gray cases. And a ton of them on equipment in-use. The EMO power cords are my go-to cords. I'll check these and advise. No complaints...stuff happens...plain and simple. Cheers! P.S. Hoping that EMO will offer some 2M and 10M XLR's; particularly, the 10M XLR's will come in handy when the RMC-1 comes out.

First off... we use very high quality power cords on our products. I've never heard of a unit cracking or failing this way. I'd really like to see a picture of the offending part. And I'm not sure what you are referring to as it relates to the grey color...
Secondly, this is not the warranty department. Why not call and let us help you?
The issue would be resolved in 5 minutes.
Just saying...

I've never seen gray power cords from Emotiva. Wonder if they're not Emotiva power cords at all.

If you got a bad power cord, give us a call and we'll replace it. "Appreciate the offer." "No complaints...stuff happens...plain and simple." "Cheers!" Nice.......First, You throw Emotiva under the bus without calling them so they may assist you, and then you write stuff like the above. Even at that, you are getting help and response from one of the best companies I've ever dealt with, and gracious indeed. This thread never should have been here, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out, if it doesn't get nixed! Bill

The power cords are EMOTIVA. When I return home, I'll collect them and deliver them to you, EMOTIVA, for examination. You're only 2-3 hours away from Eastern Tennessee.
To my knowledge, there is NO warranty on the cords after X days - not X years. The post was not to throw anyone under any bus but to see if there were others experiencing like issues.
Dan: where was it said that EMO uses anything other than high quality in my posts? If EMOTIVA used something less, why does my list of EMOTIVA gear purchased seem rather large (check your books)? BTW: never said they 'failed'; said housing was cracked - longitudinally. And the cord is black, but the housing is Cray (or Grey if you prefer).

Whenever someone posts a question or comment about an Emotiva product it better be favorable or the same posters climb out of the woodwork. Misunderstanding of what you say WILL happen. You WILL be mis-quoted - words WILL be parsed - and negativity WILL be found.
Welcome to the Lounge - where never is heard a disparaging word - when it comes to Emotiva.
FWIW power cords are sourced from varying suppliers. Perhaps it's in Emotiva's better interests to know if a particular supplier's parts are in danger of failing. I didn't see anything in the OP's original post that was anything but an inquiry about a wall cord. But then I flunked 'reading between the lines' 101 in college.

But some of us that have been around for a while never remember seeing power cords with grey connectors. Not even Hairnick remembers them. Could it be they've faded? I've had a few for about 5 years and they're still black but for the most part out of the light. All we're asking is a photo to see what he's talking about. For what it's worth, I think the OP is talking about the accessory power cords sold by Emotiva and not the power cords that come with any piece of gear. The former are hard plastic and the latter are rubberized.

My bad I suppose - satire is difficult when presented in-person - and can be much harder with the written word. Even for a college English (minor) - major was computer science. I've owned lots of new and used Emo gear. I don't recall ever seeing a gray cord either.
