Does a processor need a fancy display for Streaming Music?

I was communicating with someone from Emotiva regarding the idea of some form of Network Streaming support for the RMC-1[1,2,3]. Specifically I was talking about implementing a Roon Endpoint in the RMC-1 because their model of separating Roon Servers, Controllers and Endpoints is a nicely modular architecture which would allow the RMC-1 to only implement the Roon Endpoint without having to worry about anything else.
But that's a lot of engineering to consider for a company of Emotiva's size. And to do it, they'd need to know that there'd be sufficient demand to justify the Development, Testing, and Production resources.
One particular concern mentioned was that the display on the RMC-1 would be insufficient to support displaying Album Art, Artist/Album/Track Information, etc. And adding all the configuration code support for a myriad of user desires, etc. would be a real pain and increase the Engineering Development and Testing effort.
My response to this is that I don't think that the RMC-1's display would need to display anything except the barest minimum of information: my personal choice, if I wanted a Roon/DLNA/etc. Display, is that I'd pop something like an iPad Mini up in a permanent manner to display all of this.
So I'm curious, what do other people think about this RMC-1 Front Panel Display issue for Streaming Music?

[1] Private communication.
[2] Basically my selfish desire is that I'd just like to run Ethernet into the RMC-1 and stream my music in without having to use another box — say an Ethernet-to-USB Roon solution. And I definitely want to use the RMC-1's DACs rather than an external DAC connected via XLR, etc.
[3] By the way, we've already been told that if such a thing were to be developed, that it would need to be a separate Expansion Module because of the Real Time nature of the base Linux OS running the main functioning parts of the RMC-1. And being in the high-speed networking computer business, I definitely understand that.
