I have both of these processors. The 7020 is the one I am currently using. Is it worth my time to swap in the 7030 or is the sound quality pretty similar?
Thanks!
Eric

I would but in the end only you can tell yourself which you prefer, so why not try it out.

The 7020 is pretty much a UMC-1. Nice sound, delayed switching.
The 7030 is pretty much a Rotel 1572. Excellent sound rivaling the XMC-1. Small delay in switching.
You should definitely give it a try and tell us what you think.

I would avoid the 7020 - been there done that with the UMC-1. The 7030 is a nice processor. Very flexible and very good two channel and multi-channel performance. The only thing missing is some form of auto room correction. In my case room correction is a minor irritant since the only problem in my listening space is the low frequencies - specifically in the 45-70hz where I get a house bump. It's easy to tame using the manual equalizer. I had one for about 7-8 months and enjoyed it immensely. I should have kept it - I'd have more money in my pocket if I had.
Any more I look for functionality - seems audio quality is very good with most mid and upper level AVR/AVPs. At least that has been my experience.
