These were mentioned some time back...I saw them in dans office in mid 2015...but have as yet to see much about when they are coming other than some CES talk...
What's happening guys?
Also no podcast for ages...it's 2017 and nothing listed on the podcast links page ...but I thought I recalled one.

I'm patiently waiting for this for a computer audio stack with the DC-1. I think a stack deal combining the DC-1 with two mono amps would sell really well. But true to Emotiva form, an announcement does not guarantee production, and the wait can be looooooooooooong. Instead, Emotiva introduces the BasX A-150. Ugh. I hope it sells well for them, but a PA-1 would be so much better.
One thing Emotiva could do better is to be more reliable with release dates.

They showed them again at CES. XLR input only. They should be soon.

The PA-1 is indeed still in the works....... As of now, we expect them to be released around mid-year. The PA-1 will be a monoblock, featuring a single ICEpower Class-D amplifier module, and will deliver around 150 watts into 8 Ohms. The reason we released the BasX A-150 is that some folks want a two-channel power amp that is less powerful than the A-300, but still has a fill-sized 19" chassis. (The BasX A-150 is intended for a totally different market than the PA-1, and a rather different price point.) I'm patiently waiting for this for a computer audio stack with the DC-1. I personally don't mind, but there are a lot of people who might use it in other systems and appreciate an RCA input. I guess if I could source some 300ASC units, I could pull pin 5 to ground and have a nice DIY auto-turn on but I'm sick of sniffing solder these days.

I thought the PA-1 was fully balanced? How is that acheived with a single ICE blade? I thought one needs two?

I believe it will accept at least a single ended connection. It is one of those multipurpose jacks if you look at it.

I assume that these will feature ICEpower modules from Bang & Olufsen ala the Red Dragon amplifiers reviewed by Audioholics a few years ago? I've been curiously watching the long drawn out debate on Bruno Putzey's Hypex Ncore® amplifier design; though the excitement over that seems to have died down a bit. It seems like manufacturers have a fairly good set of choices for moderately priced, high efficiency, reasonable performance amplifiers. Casey

by mid year I will have probably given up up on emotiva again ... 2 years from when I fist saw them in Dans office it's just too long to wait...Ill probably go for UCD-180 Hypex in the mean time and never look back. for those unable to DIY I guess you have to just hold your breath till you turn blue. I was looking at 6 units...maybe 8 - even the DC-1 is showing its age without DSD of any description.

Eh, "giving up", seems a bit extreme ... "not waiting for your next purchase" maybe? :-) By the way, is the "UCD-180 Hypex" you mention based on Bruno Putzey's Hypex Ncore® NC400 module? I can't quite tell from the search results. Casey

I'm not sure but the general consensus is that's it's a pretty good bit of kit

Frustration. Most companies do not give out info because it can result in frustration with there customers and cause problems. Big Dan likes to tell us about stuff he is building. A couple of times the gear did not make it, but Dan was hoping he could do it. I have not heard that they are not doing the Emersa or ICEamp Stealth modules. My thinking a short time after my frustration was the big picture. This is company that has a budget. This is a company that has many products available in the market and in the process of bringing many more to market. They are a small company and are bringing many products to us. They have there hands full and we all need to cut them some slack. Dan Laufman, thank you Sir for making all this great Audio gear and sorry about the comment. I wish your company the best and look forward to all the great Audio gear that is to come. Cheers Mike

It seems like manufacturers have a fairly good set of choices for moderately priced, high efficiency, reasonable performance amplifiers. Casey Whether or not the incredible specs of the Hypex NCore are actually audible to the human ear is up for debate. However, the new IceEdge platform from IcePower to be incorporated into all future Icepower boards (soon to be seen in the IcePower 1200 ASC module) looks like it will give Ncore stiff competition. The measured specs are phenomenal. It is an exciting time for class D amplification.

'ICEedge Class d like never before The ICEedge chipset consists of a dual channel Controller IC and two Driver IC’s. It is the only chipset in the market enabling amplifiers that range in power from 50 up to 7000 watt into 4 Ohms. ICEedge is our finest achievement yet in terms of audio performance and functionality, and likely the world’s most advanced Class D chipset.' www.icepower.bang-olufsen.com/en/newpage
