Some people like a full-sized amplifier that matches their other rack-mount equipment. Now available. Just recieved an e-mail today. Anybody looking to review this new amp anytime soon. Probably hits a price point that alot of folks would be happy with.

These days as like everything else. It is about options. The more you have, the more apt you are to find what you like. Now sure, it can get haywire real fast. But I think This amplifier makes great sense. Especially for those great efficient speakers you may have. Or an impromptu monitoring Amplifier in a project studio where you might adapt this to the 19 inch EIA rack mount standard. Or another Zone Amplifier, and multi-channel amplifier addition where the hee man power is not really needed.

If you have a thing about fans in your amps (as a few people complained about with the A-300, although the fans virtually never run), the A-150 doesn't have them. It's pretty much like the amp section of the TA-100 except with a bigger transformer and a little higher supply voltage, which nets the extra power, and it also has a larger heat sink. It also has the same form factor as the PT-100 instead of being taller like the A-300 is, so it may be the amp that "fits" into your system if you have limited clearance on your shelf, but want an amp that matches the width of your preamp and other components.

The equivalent "loudness difference" between the TA-100 with 50 WPC and this amp with 75, is miniscule.
BUT, if your speakers are inefficient, every little bit helps...

The only market I can see for this amp is surround sound duty...emotiva would have been better served by increasing the power to 100 watts and bigger heatsinks.

I was considering this unit for my HE-6, but ultimately went with the A-100 as I wanted the headphone jack and volume knob.

For $100 more you can get the a-300.. $250 makes more sense for this amp imo

Well the power is really not bad. It WILL drive speakers satisfactorily and sound good. I remember when I got my UPA-2 for $300. Now it's a larger mini-x for the same price. But I guess that was a long time ago... However at $300 you have competition from cheap receivers and integrated units at that price range like Sherwood and Harman Kardon

You can get the Onkyo m-5010 for $249 also For $50, I'll give the business to Emotiva for... - Build-quality rep
- M-5010's odd 4 ohm power spec
- BasX A-150 will look good on top of my BasX PT-100
- Little guys vs big guys
- Support the home team...USA, USA, USA

qq...does anyone out there own a BasX A-150? There's plenty of A-100 and A-300 references, but basically zilch/nada/squata to the A-150...?
