I'm in the process of setting up my system & currently waiting to have my surround wiring run. I've never run my amp without the surrounds hooked up (ch 3 & 4). Will I incur any damage, to the amp, by not having a load on those 2 channels? I'll be using the setup primarily for music until the additional wiring is in place. Many Thanks for the help!

No worries. You're good to use it without the surrounds hooked up. It will not cause any damage. The XPA-5 is a real workhorse (I used to own one). For your peace of mind, just don't connect the surround feeds into the amp. Enjoy.

Thanks Hemster. I kinda figured that it would be okay, but wanted to be sure before I got too involved and then experienced an "loops" moment.

WAY late, but I do have a thought.
If running an XPA-5 as only 3 channels? I'd run 1, 3, 5 in order to spread out the heat.
