So the only place for my surround speakers in my 5.1 system is in the ceiling. This works more or less for action movies, but is distracting for music dvds and sacd multi channel. One option for these music dvds and sacds is to use stereo mode, obviously, but I'd like to try to make use of the center channel in a 3.1 system. Is there any easy way to put settings in the Mc 700 that allow me to push a button or two and switch to 3.1 mode with preset calibration.
I understand I can simply turn off the surround speakers, but maybe that will leave the center and fronts not in balance. It would be a hassle to readjust the speaker settings everytime I switch from 5.1 to 3.1.

The fronts and center will not become unbalanced by changing the surrounds. Can you just turn the level of the surrounds down 10 or 15 dB so you don't hear them? Seems like that would be easier than reconfiguring the actual speaker config before and after each music session.
