Does yours say PLIIx anywhere on the OSD or display? Weird. Min has the mode at the top, PCM under it, and the decibel level to the right of PCM.

Yes. Note, I'm just hitting the mode button on the remote and cycling through the modes it has. I am not going into Menu and selecting a mode.
The display has multiple pieces of info it shows, using about a 5 second or so lag between them. When I hit "Mode" the first thing the PLIIx mode on the display shows is:
Mode Select > PLIIx Movie
Then after about 5 seconds it says:
HDMI4 PCM 48k 2 Ch
Then after another 5 seconds it says:
PLIIx Movie PCM -51.5
That is where it then stays, with the -51.5 being my volume setting. It has similar info for the other modes, just whatever they are called instead of "PLIIx Movie".
When I hit the "Mode" button to change modes, the OSD pops up a small rectangle window with the name of the current mode for about 5 seconds as well. It says:
Mode:PLIIx Movie
Then when I hit the "Info" button on the remote, the OSD says:
String
PLIIx Movie
It has "String" for all of them. I assume this is a bug and is supposed to say something like "Mode:". Some coder forgot to replace the value in the variable from "String" (a placeholder) to what they want it to say.

Thanks for the detailed response. That is not what I am seeing. I think I'll give Emotiva tech support a call next week to see if they help me get this fixed.

I have not played enough with mine but yesterday I've had a similar screen where the expected mode was not displaying. mraub1 did you eventually solve it?? Maybe it has something to do with the options selected from the source (i.e. bluray player)??Thanks!!

Already solved it myself, thanks. It was indeed just because of an option on my bluray player settings.
