Hello everyone! House construction has just started and I have a dedicated HT room planned. The size of the room will be 14 x 22 x 8.5 feet. I was hoping to go all-EMO for speakers but the only option for atmos seems to be the Airmotiv E1s.
Can they do the job given the room size?
Planned setup is 7.2.4 with three towers in front (T1 or T2) then E1 all around and above.
* LCRs to be driven by XPA 3-channel amp, the rest to be driven by the receiver (midrange onkyo / denon / marantz / yamaha receiver capable of 11 channels)

I wish we had some suggestions/info for this as well. Not sure why no one has responded :/

They are designed with two keyhole slots on the back, top and botton-ish, so I can see how they would hang vertically on nails/anchors sticking out of a wall. However, for the ceiling, I would be afraid they would slide off and fall on my head Do you have something clever in mind to make sure the ceiling E1's are solidly attached?

And... I think the E2's, shortly to land on these shores, are capable of being mounted wall and ceiling, as per the info in the last podcast.

Hi, So I know this thread is little old but I had a similar question regarding the E1s, since I had previously purchased 4 for my much smaller apartment space. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/50168/hanging-1In this thread I referenced the AMC-41C made by Pinpoint down in Houston. They were a little hard to get since they were flying off the shelf but I did manage to get a pair for my rear E1s which hang from my 10ft ceiling. The AMC-41C works perfectly fine to hold the speakers in place and despite the length of the drop they don't look bad. I've had friends and visitors comment on their look. I'll toss a picture or two in here below. As a side note I've hear that Emotiva may be making in-wall/in-celing at some point which I may consider later. Note: I did, probably do the unthinkable for most. I did install 3 safety screws on each hanging speaker in the ceiling brackets. Let's face it, a speaker falling 8 to 10ft on your head or the floor is just no-bueno. They are very small, short screws, it's your call on whether you might want to take the route I did. I need a new receiver, but for now I'm running what you see in my signature. The space I am in now is 15' L x 24' W x 10' H and it's open to the kitchen and dining areas. At some point I do intend to get 2 new 12" or 15" subwoofers but things otherwise work perfectly fine. Atmos and DTS:X work perfectly fine with the E1s being in a front Height configuration. My Front Heights and Read Surrounds sit at about 8ft.

It looks like the E2s are also only meant to wall mount. Is it feasible to ceiling mount them? Anyone tried it?

Looks like I'm a little late to this thread, but to the OP...yes you can mount them for Atmos! The E1's make great heights. (If Emotiva has any E1's left.) I would imagine for as low as a ceiling you have, the di-poles may help a bit. When it comes to hanging things over my head, I trust a regular small screw in an HDF cabinet about as much as gas station sushi. So, I had to go get some small Eye Bolts and T-nuts as all I had laying around was large hardware from my hanging line array days. Keep in mind you're likely voiding the warranty as you need to remove the drivers. I don't think I needed to remove the crossover but measure accordingly so you DON'T drill through it. These pics were taken before I dipped the hardware in rubber to get rid of any chatter. Nothing crazy, but a quick solution. PM me if you have any questions.
