We have decided to release a new BETA version of the MC-700 firmware code to members here at the Lounge to get your feedback.
However, in return, we ask you to follow certain rules.
1)
This link will remain active for about a week.
Until then, feel free to download a copy of the code and install it on your MC-700.
We ask you NOT to pass on copies of this code or post them anywhere else.
2)
We ask you to send any comments or bug reports you may have DIRECTLY to us - by sending a PM to KeithL (title it "MC-700 BETA 3/31" or something like that).
We ask you NOT to complicate matters by posting your experiences on the Forum.
Remember that this is BETA code.
3)
If you do send a bug report, please include the following information (and anything else that seems interesting):
a) what's happening or not happening
b) what are your sources and what HDMI inputs do you have them connected to
... if it's something like a Roku, which model number do you have?
... if it's a Blu-Ray player, then does it happen with one type of disc or all of them?
c) what TV or monitor do you have the output connected to
... include the model if you have it
d) under what conditions does the problem occur
... right away or after an hour?
... every five minutes or once a day?
... only when changing channels, or every ten minutes, or randomly?
... does it happen with all your sources or just one?
... does it go away after you change inputs, or after a power reset, or never?
e) what audio MODE were you using?
f) have you changed any settings from the defaults?
... if so, which ones?
g) have you run EmoQ yet?
h) does it seem related to anything environmental (like how warm the room is)?
HERE'S THE LINK TO THE FILE.
Simply download the file, copy it onto a FAT32 USB stick, put the stick in the upgrade slot, and turn the unit on.
After the MC-700 goes into Standby, just press the Standby button and the upgrade will be applied.
Don't interrupt the unit until the update finishes (it will only take a few seconds).
Turn the MC-700 off, remove the stick, and turn it back on.
