I see that the RS-232 codes for the MC-700 include a command for Optical, but neither the IR codes nor the remote provide a similar capability. I'd love to get my Harmony One able to direct the MC-700 to switch to the optical input with a single button push, or with a command in an activity.
Quick background: my mother lives with me, and she has Alzheimer's. We have caregivers who spend much of the day with her, and I rely on the Harmony to give them activities they can start with a single button push. The only thing that has me stymied is creating an activity to use the TV's streaming apps like Netflix, since I need to get the MC-700 accepting the Optical input to get audio. It's too complex for these caregivers to use multiple remotes, and it's too complex to tell them after starting a Smart TV activity "Now look at what the MC-700 shows for its input. If it doesn't say "Optical" push this button until it does."
Of the digital inputs I only use Optical, so I'd hoped that the firmware update would address the problem of not returning to the last used digital input when pushing the remote's "DIG" button, but no joy there. I've made some tries at getting ARC to work from my LG B6, but so far no joy, just deep gloom, there either.
Has anyone found a way around a problem like this?

Nope, and it's extremely annoying. How did Emotiva ship a brand new design that lacks discrete codes for every input??? That's a fundamental requirement for any successful remote control integration.
I use both the optical and the coax inputs, along with the Harmony Elite.
This really needs to be addressed.

It's definitely an oversight. Descrete codes have been necessary since the days of the Phillips Pronto in Y2K.
