I knew about this some time ago however I did not post due to a lot of people not liking TIDAL and finding fault to the point they would talk more about the failure of the company rather than what it had to offer. I'm guessing these people were never in business b/c nothing would get off the ground with their way of thinking of constant negatives. I digress....good article, I only hope someday I can acquire MQA from TIDAL thru my iPad. Everything is possible, but I hope it is not in the to distant future.

Good article. I have been using Tidal for a while, and I really like it. And, now that they added MQA "masters", I like it more. I stream Tidal Masters from my PC via USB to my dac (LH Labs Geek Pulse X Infinity) and the sound is excellent. I have not compared it single variably to and album I own that is not MQA yet. But, George Benson Breezin' sounds great in MQA...like the best vinyl version I ever heard but with all the convenience of digital.
I only wish there were an option as cost effective and user-friendly as my Sonos to play Tidal MQA files via it. To use my HTPC is not hard...but not as easy as using my Sonos.

Tidal didn't work for me for whatever reason. It kept stopping mid song not really a buffering but that is what it looked like. I would have to select another track to re-engage. I cancelled my subscription. This snip it was captured during upload. Attachments:

Inadequate buffer..

Inadequate buffer.. I thought Sonos can't stream anything in "hi res" with the max being CD quality? (which for me I consider "hi res" enough, but that's always been a limitation of Sonos, not being able to stream a rate higher than 44.1/16)

Correct...Sonos can do CD quality but not higher.

Apparently (I'm told by Sonos) my wireless environment limits the amount of Hi Rez data that can be streamed. I can use all 8 zones with Sonos if its MP3 or AAC or Pandora or something that doesn't have a lot of data. As soon as I go Hi Rez it chokes. Gave up trying to figure it out.
