Hello all, I've recently purchased an Emotiva PT-100 to replace my aged Technics AC500D that I was using as a 2CH preamp for a while, since I'm just a 2CH music listener I started looking around for a good preamp with digital inputs, analog inputs and of course the Bass/Treble tone controls, what I can say is that this beauty actually exceed what I was looking for plus have an FM tuner, the audio quality is superb and the overall system control is plain simple, I just setup and started using the unit right out of the box without even reading the manual first.  SetupI paired my PT-100 with a DriveRack PA2 and 2x old school Samson S2000 amplifiers(last version with 2SA1295, 2SC3264 finals), to drive my DIY mains and one mono sub, and so far so good. Final thoughtsBeen testing for less than a week, but I will definitely recommend this preamp for those looking for a simple and versatile yet elegant 2CH preamp, additionally the Emotiva Customer Service is fantastic and I would buy again. Yep, the PT-100 is a sweet little piece. I have mine driving a pair of Airmotiv 5s's and it sounds great.

If I didn't already have an XSP-1, I surely would have snagged a PT-100. I'm a little jealous of the built-in tuner, actually.

Big fan of PR, have been many times, great place, great food, great people. Welcome to the board! I have the TA-100 and like you, I really enjoy it. I use it with my computer and a set of DIY speakers, fantastic little setup for the price! |
