Hi Everyone,
This issue has come back again the "Audio Only" HDMI from the Panasonic DMB-UB900 UHD BR Player is again intermittently causing the XMC-1 to shut off the audio path which causes the triggered amp to click off. It is occurring with both 4k and Standard Blurays. Interestingly, if I let the BD play, the XMC-1 triggers the amp on and off over 2 or 3 minute intervals but the whole time the XMC-1 is basically 'frozen' and needs a hard restart to restore any audio. Strange how upgrading the Panasonic firmware seemed to fix the issue for a few plays but it has reverted back with the issue occurring intermittently.
At this point I don't know if its the Panasonic or the XMC-1 causing the issue, the XMC-1 was having freezing issues prior to getting the HDMI board replaced and I don't have another receiver to check the Panasonic and my HTPC has the same 2 x hdmi outputs and this works flawlessly.
I guess I'll have to take the Panasonic back to where I bought it and go from there.

I wonder if what Keith describes here vvv is whats causing your audio dropouts and consequent power amp reboots ? If you have another lcd etc to try its edid may behave differently . Another option is the current hdmi 2.0 1 in 1 out card though you would lose any HDR but that's ok for certain projectors ; hopefully the hdmi 2.0b card is coming soon ..

I have an old Panasonic Plasma and the issue is the same, If the hdmi handshake issue exists as per Keith's explanation I have no way to cure this as its an issue with lpcm and bitstream the more I think about it the more this makes sense, there is clearly a non relevant video singnal on the audio only hdmi cable and this is most likely the cause, it fits the pattern of how this behaves. Looks like I might have to put up with it until the new HDMi board arrives. Thanks everyone PS I updated the XMC-1 to 4.1 firmware but this didnt help, Was worth a try : ( I wonder if what Keith describes here vvv is whats causing your audio dropouts and consequent power amp reboots ?
