I'm sorry, but I've just got to chime in here.......
To put it bluntly, I open a copy of our favorite "audiophile magazine", and see other companies selling gear that
isn't made better than ours, and
doesn't sound better than ours, for five or ten times the price...or more...
And I see people going on and on about how wonderful some of it is...
An awful lot of what a lot of people think of as "good value" is, to be charitable,
NOT based on what you're actually buying or how well it works.
(It seems to have a lot more to do with the Kool Aid market.)
I also talk to people all the time who are downright shocked when they replace a piece of equipment that costs five or ten times as much with one of ours...
And find that our equipment actually sounds significantly
better than the "premium brand" equipment it replaced...
(They're shocked that they can hear a difference at all... and even more shocked that we win the comparison...)
We base our pricing on providing equipment that works really well, and sounds really good, at reasonable and affordable prices...
And I think we're doing pretty well.
To borrow a quote from an old TV commercial (I forget the product)...
If you
REALLY think you can get something better for less money, then you'd be foolish not to buy it...
But that's a that's a really big
IF... and we're not too worried.
Not to be a negative nanny but Emotiva is finding it is much harder to stay competitive in the market of SS amps at the latest price points.
