I am using an Oppo-BDP 103 with my UMC-200 and connecting via an HDMI cable. I am not sure if my speakers are receiving the SACD signal or not. I realize this may be an OPPO setting and not the Emotiva processor.
My question is, does the Emotiva UMC-200 handle a DSD SACD signal? The reason I am questioning this is when the player is playing a SACD my screen says SACD-PCM and then either 2-channel or whatever the multi-channel configuration of the disc was mixed to. Is the disc's SACD (DSD) signal going all the way to the speakers or is the SACD signal not passing through the Emotiva processor and being converted to PCM there?

I may be incorrect but I believe the SACD DRM protocol prohibits DSD from leaving the player (Oppo).
There are exceptions but the only one I know of first hand is the PS Audio DirectStream Memory Player which can send DSD to PS Audio's DirectStream DAC.

Yes - as long as it is passed from the Oppo103 to the UMC200 over the HDMI cable. I have the identical set-up. The SACD signal will only be passed when over HDMI, and the Oppo103 set-up item for SACD output should be set to PCM. |

Oppo 103 converts DSD to 88.2Khz/24Bit loop7 . Other brands like Sony may upsample to 176fs but Oppo likes the sound quality at 88  |
