I've been contemplating adding an amp into my setup for a while now. I've owned Sunfire (2 ch) amps in the past but wanted something new. This time I was considering all kinds, types of amps from moderate expensive to less expensive.
My setup includes:
Pioneer Elite SC-05 Receiver Phase Technology PC 3.1 Series II (6ohm, 92 sensitivity) Xbox Elite Emotiva UPA-1 monoblocks (2x)
Upon immediately after starting my listening to what the new amps could do, I am extremely happy with my purchase. They opened up my setup tremendously.
One thing I highly dislike about the amps are the "blue LED's starring at me while I'm listening. I know there is a on/off switch on the back but it doesn't turn off that bling blue standby LED. Is there anything you guys have done to remedy this? Hopefully if I ever get a newer Emotiva amp they've allowed to completely turn them off, maybe even dim them so much they won't be a issue.
I also don't like the silver strips o the side and plan on buying the black replacement ones.
I cam completely satisfied with how well these amps make my speakers sing.

See the "Light out blackout edition" to cure the lights. Knew you'd be happy as a MONOBLOCKS owner! Welcome aboard. Just a little background check and paperwork to become an active member! EMOTIVA AMPS ARE THE SCHIITs!

I did a search for the blackout trim and couldn't find it.
Can you post a link?

Thank you for that. I did find that one in my searches it just wasn't immediately recognized as that thread.

I don't see the UPA-1's in the features list.

I loved the UPA-1s when I had them in my system. If not for a local deal for an outstanding price for the XPA-1s I would still be using the UPA-1s. They are by far the best bang for your buck monoblock amp Emotiva has released. Enjoy your new amp.

Note there's two different versions. One blacks out the light completely (blackout) and one dims it a lot (the original light dims).

I have 3 UPA-1s for my LCR speakers and they are under the screen, so facing right at me on movie night. I took the lid off them and physically disconnected the LED around the power switch, so no blue or amber. I am left with the little blue status light when they are on. Much better!

Just a warning, I had the light dims on my UPA-1 for a couple years. As I was getting ready to sell them, I pulled off the light dim and it peeled the finish off of the power button. See photo below. i.imgur.com/65WNKJQ.jpg
